RHCP Satch Hagar super group Chickenfoot to launch album |

 The band, Chickenfoot, featuring Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, ex-Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and RHCP drummer Chad Smith, would be releasing their debut album Chickenfoot globally on June 5th and in the UK on Monday June 8th.

Vedder, Grohl to do a Nick Drake tribute album |

 Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, Norah Jones and Jack Johnson are some of the musicians who will be performing on a tribute album for English singer-songwriter Nick Drake, who died of drugs OD in 1974. The album will be released by Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records.

Megadeth's new album by year end |

 Megadeth entered their recording studio, Vic's Garage, on January 7, to start on their 12th album, which is due to release by the end of 2009. This will be the first one with guitarist Chrish Broderick, who replaced Glen Drover in 2007. Drummer Shawn Drover has finished his recording completely on all the 12 tracks on the album.

 Now that U2's album is nearing release, a lot seems to be happening on that front. The single, 'Get on your boots' from No Line on the Horizon is all set to be premiered on Jan 19 on BBC Radio 1.The track will be released on February 15 and the band would play it on Feb 18 at the Brit Awards. The band have also revealed the tracklisting and artwork (designed by Hiroshi Sugimoto). The standard pack of the album would contain a 24 page booklet anda digi pack has a film directed by Anton Corbijn
