Khiladiyon ke khiladi? International khiladi? Khiladi no. 1? Are you serious, you're talking about a rock band and not a Bollywood film? Dead serious, guys! The Bombay-based band is the brainchild of P-Man (aka Rohit Pereira of PDV). Well, the latest is, this quartet was recently declared the runner-up at Distortion '08, held in December, and the band was formed only in September '08. In a short span of three months, Khiladi has already played gigs all over Bombay, Pune and Bangalore.

 As the band puts it, their music is, "Xtreme Rock n Roll, and it’s all about going back to the roots of rock n roll, uprooting them, and putting them back with a twist that will blow your mind." Which is why you will hear them play metalized-version of classics like 'Born to be wild', 'Jailhouse Rock', etc.

The band is relatively new, but that doesn't apply to the membersm, who are quite seasoned, having played with a number of bands. P-Man  from PDV, Ashu  from Xenon, Groovelab, Nikhil also from Revolver and Viru from PDV, Demonic Resurrection, Prayag. And it's this unusual combination of musical influences creates a powerful and in-your-face sound. As the band describes its gigs, "A Khiladi gig is always super-fun to watch and never complete without some crazy antics and stand-up comedy by P-Man."
