A 'Rush of Blood' with 21 bands on the 6th of Sept, 09

How about doing something noble and having fun doing it? Bombay Rock Association brings 'Rush of Blood' - a mix of social cause and music... a blood donation drive with a twist. b.R.a (along with Youth for People) is kicking off with a blood donation drive on the 6th of Sept (Sunday) from 12 pm to 9:30 pm. The blood collected at the drive will then be all donated to the TATA Hospital.

The twist is that 21 bands and artistes would be performing on stage through out the drive.

Date: 6 Sept, 09

Time: 12 pm to 9:30 pm

Venue: Carter Road podium,

Things you need to keep in mind while donating...

1) Age- 18 to 60 yrs.

2) Weight - above 45 kgs.

3) Cannot donate on an empty stomach. Should have had some meal before donating.

4) Should not have had any major illnessess like jaundice, malaria, typhoid, TB, Chicken pox, dengue etc in the past 1 year.

5) Pregnant women and lactating mothers cannot donate.

6) Should not have donated blood in the past 3 months.

7) Should not be diabetic or a Blood pressure (hypertensive) patient. (Donation not allowed even if under control with medication)

8) Should not be on any major medication like antibiotics, anti-depressants, aspirin etc.

9) Should not have any operation in the past 6 to 12 months.

10) Skin infection, unexplained weight loss, frequent fainting episodes, etc ....please avoid.
